Questions we get
These also feed the FAQ markup, so the answers can show up directly in Google results.
How much does a lockout cost?
Car lockouts start at $60, house lockouts at $80 and business at $100. The final number depends on the vehicle, the lock and when the job happens, so the technician gives you the price in person before any work begins. Looking costs nothing: if the price does not work for you, you pay nothing and we leave.
Can you make a key with no original?
Yes. We cut and code a new key from the vehicle itself, so you do not need an existing key to copy from. It happens where the car is parked, not at a shop, and that includes transponder keys and push-to-start fobs.
Will you damage my car, door or window?
On vehicles, no. We open cars with tools made for the job: no broken glass and no drilling. On houses and businesses it depends on the lock. Most open with no damage, but some types can only be opened by drilling the cylinder. When that is the case the technician tells you before touching anything, along with what replacing it would cost, and you decide.
What do I need to prove the car is mine?
A photo ID and the vehicle registration or insurance card, with a name that matches. We ask every single time, with no exceptions, and that is on purpose: it is the same check that keeps anyone else from calling us to open your car.
Do you work on cars from 2020 and newer?
Yes, including push-to-start and proximity fobs. A lot of people are told the dealership is the only option for a newer vehicle. It is not: we program the key where the car is parked, usually for less and without the tow.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, and Saturday from 8am to 2pm. Sundays, and any time outside those hours, we work by appointment: call ahead and we will arrange it.
Still standing outside?
Call and we will get a technician out to you. The quote on site is free.
